Challenge - Retain Enterprise Customers through Invites

Bluebeam’s product team recently shifted focus onto better retaining enterprise customers, characterized by:

  • working on bigger projects with more external (outside the company) collaborators
  • more internal employees
  • heavy emphasis on security & legal requirements

People need easier ways to invite and manage more people (categorized as >20 people) than when Bluebeam’s cloud collaboration space (Studio) was first built over 10 years ago.

We heard about how customers encountered issues inviting many people and typically used other methods. We decided to focus on pushing our customers to use the in-app invite process to:

  • improve the experience of Studio and meet the needs of our enterprise customers ourselves
  • increase security by utilizing our secure access control to lock the collaboration space to only those invited in-app
  • help with legal requirements and project deadlines by ensuring particular parties are involved & review so the project can move forward

How can we make our in-app invite process easier in order to maintain security, keep legal requirements, and meet deadlines?

Problems we solved for:

  • Too Long to Invite Many People
  • Invites going to Spam, resulting in lack of participation
  • Can't Manage who has been Invited
